Free Monthly Craft Beer Event in Downtown Lincoln Hosted by Empyrean Brewing Co®.

For anyone 21 or older, Beer School offers a chance to step inside a local brewery, sample beers and ask questions about craft brewing.

LINCOLN, NE. May 22, 2023 – For adults wanting to learn more about craft beer, or even just a free sample or two, Beer School is the place to be. The Empyrean Brewing Co.® event takes place on the first Monday of the month. Attendees can learn more about the brewing process, ask questions and receive two Empyrean Brewing Co.® beers. The event is completely free and open to anyone 21 and older.

Beer School starts at 7 p.m. at 729 Q Street in downtown Lincoln. It occurs from January – November every first Monday except on holidays, where it takes place on the second Monday. For those desiring a good spot in line, be sure to show up early. The brewery can only accept the first 150 people.

You’ll receive a free beer sample as you wait to start class—samples change each month according to the Beer School theme. All attendees will get the chance to step inside the brewhouse and ask questions to multiple Empyrean Brewing Co.® brewers.

Jim Engelbart, operations manager at Empyrean Brewing Co.® said, “This is one event that makes our brewery so unique. We wanted to create a free, fun space for those curious about craft beer to come have a drink and talk to some brewers. We sample more than just our beer – the goal is to help educate our community about the industry, not to just gain more sales.”

Beer School first started in the 1990s, in the early years of the Lincoln craft beer industry. As Nebraska’s first brewpub, Empyrean Brewing Co.® helped pave the way for the state’s craft beer legislation.

The Lazlo’s Brewery & Grill located down the street hosts a monthly pint night to coincide with Beer School. From 4 p.m. to close, guests can come to the Lazlo’s bar area to buy a pint and receive an Empyrean Brewing Co.® pint glass at a discount.
